Description
The Folkestone White Horse is designed by local artist Charlie Newington and was carved into the Cheriton hillside in the early 2000’s finally completing in June 2003 as some controversy and objection. As part of a Millennium landmark, this White Horse overlooks the English terminal of the Channel Tunnel and is a symbol of home for many returning from Europe. The entire figure is approximately 90 metres long and draws an inspiration from its Iron Age ancestor of Uffington White Horse in the linage rather than filled in horse structure.
This Acrylic painting is on a 16×20 inch canvas board and framed in a white St Ive moulding. An edition run of just 50 Giclees are available printed on A3.
